After I saw that Stephen Russell is doing interviews (check (
https://youtu.be/vTodZbjY9-8?t=31m15s) here and (
http://www.fancypantsgangsters.com/shows/ep-86-stephen-russell/) here) these days, I figured, what the heck, I'll contact him and see if he would consider doing one with us. And he agreed. So I'm going to do a little Q&A, and It'll probably be 30-45 minutes, because I don't want to take too much of his time.
Given that - I'm looking for ideas for questions. If you have a good one, post it here in this thread. In the end, I'll probably use a combination of some questions that I'm whipping up, and what we get here.
His most recent interviews focus a bit on some of his work in the Fallout games and Skyrim games. I thought we'd steer this session more towards the early days with Looking Glass and then talk about how that extended out into his work with Irrational and Arkane (and Bethesda too). And of course, I want to cover some of his recent/current projects too.
Also - I'm looking for tech advise on how to do something like this - never done it before. If anyone has good ideas on a particular program, app, or website to use, let me know via PM (don't post about it here, please).
Alright, this should be awesome - so send some great questions and if it gets used, you'll of course get credit.
Edit - I don't want to take too much for granted, I know 95% of the users here know who Stephen Russell is, but for the other 5% - he voiced Garrett (and Raoul and Benny and Karras and others) from the Thief games, as well as multiple roles in a whole bunch of other games like System Shock 2, Arx Fatalis, Fallout 3/4, Skyrim, and the forthcoming Dishonored 2. Check his IMDB for a complete listing:

ATTENTION: There have been several requests/questions in this thread pertaining to asking Mr. Russell about voicing lines for fan missions or projects. We will
NOT be asking him anything related to this. Please do not bring it up again.
We also won't be covering anything tacky like what his rates are or what he thinks of some of the other Garrett voices out there (from either fan missions or Thief 2014).

A bit of a silly question, but can you still do some of your old voices (from the Thief series), years later?

You could ask him how distant is voice acting from "regular" acting, how he takes care of his vocals, how he prepares to voice a character and give each one a whole different tone, how much can the process last, etc.
Also it would be nice to know how he created Karras' voice. :p

How much input were you allowed in determining the sound of your characters' voices and the lines they said?

Regarding Thief 2014. Did the producers of that game request a darker, more edgy Garrett performance from him as we heard in the leaked Trailer?
Also, did he record anything for Thief 2014 other than that trailer voice over?

Actually this was covered in one of his recent interviews. He brought up the character and talked about it. He was actually copying a type of voice a friend of his came up with.
I would be curious if he ever gets recognized in public places by fans of his voice acting.

Yeah, he nicknamed him "The Man With Too Many Fat Globules." :laff:

Brethren, may I suggest linking his other interviews in this thread so we know what he's already answered? I know they are in the other thread, but it would make it easier for people ^_^
Thanks.
Your pal,

Was there much change in how he portrayed Garrett initially when he first started doing voice work for the Thief games, and if so did that change much over the course of the development of the first title (and subsequently evolve over the next two) and what styles were explored and ultimately discarded?
Also, what Tannis said. If you're only doing a 'short' interview, you don't want to be covering old ground.
