Should Thief 3 editing be merged into the Editor's Guild?
Either merged into TEG or simply archived. I don't know what the fuss is about merging it. The Thief 3 editing forum has been dead for quite some time, so it's not like the people interested in T1 and T2 editing are going to be tripping over T3 posts.

Shock Citadel Conversation Project be archived?
I don't understand why you archived SS2 editing and left this out. There is still SS2 editing going on (see Kolya's forum) but this particular project seems to be dead. :( How about keeping one System Shock editing forum and move the posts from Citadel Conversation Project into that?

I really like all of the new changes but do have a suggestion for clearing up the few remaining non-LGS games.
I have never really understood the need for a Stalker, Elder Scrolls or Fallout forums at TTLG. I love all of those games but find any link to LGS to be tenuous at best. The post count has dropped considerably in these forums and as such I feel that they could be archived/merged with GG.

Stalker I don't get either, but TES and Fallout have some pretty solid links. Emil Pagliarulo, Stephen Russell...

The way how the editing forums are used (or how *I* use them, anyway) is quite different from the other forums, I use the search function more often than I actually post there. For me the Editors' Guild is like a huge and very badly organised instruction manual, and somewhere within the countless pages of it lie the answers to all the mysteries of Dromed. :p
So yes, I still think that merging the forums would be a bad idea. It's not the
new T3 editing posts that would be a problem (because there haven't been any new ones for a while), but it would make searching old posts for answers to our Dromed problems even more confusing and difficult than it already is. Of course "tagging" the T3 posts (by adding a "T3:" prefix on the subject line or something) would fix that, but I still can't see the point of merging the forums.

Yes, those forums constitute resources for entirely disparate systems. They definitely need to remain separate, and indeed that's now the plan -- see the updates to the initial post.

The overall impression I get is a loose focus on "immersive sim" type games. This seems to have organically grown out of following games by ex-LGSers (Deus Ex), or that were inspired by LGS games (Arx Fatalis), then branched out into other open-world adventure/RPGs.
This might actually be a good focus for TTLG to revitalize itself going forward-- explicitly brand itself as not just a shrine to Looking Glass (a noble goal, but sadly destined to relegate TTLG to "museum" status), but also a haven for immersive sim action/adventure/RPG gaming. Kind of like an (

Agreed.

Sure, it's a good idea. But right now only the Stalker forums are mostly unrelated to anything.

I completely agree with ZylonBane. :thumb:

On an unrelated note, I just hit the ttlg.com main page for the first time in too long, apparently. WTF? People can actually read that 7-point type?
