Ha ha. I thought the same as Muzman.
Is that a Wistar rat you have there? If so, is it male or female, and if it's female do you notice a change in her "mood" over her ovulation cycle? Wistars are so, so intelligent and they have real character. I like to think of them as small dogs.

I think a better name would be
The Devil's Tribble cavy.

It's actually a Long-Evans rat and it's male. He's really smart and in some respects his behavior is almost disturbingly humanlike. Unfortunately his eyesight has been deteriorating slightly as of late, but he can make up for it using the other senses.
The cavy has regular dark ruby eye, it only looks hellish because of the camera flash.

You know what, that's what I meant actually. Wistars are white with red eyes. Doh!
Those Long-Evans are awesome rats. I'd get one but I can't be doing with the smell (and don't think they don't smell, you just can't smell it anymore!). What amazes me about them is they get to know you and can show people preference in a big way. Do you ever find this? I found them to come to me (after inspecting other people) preferentially and not because I'm their pusher but because I'm the guy who plays with them everyday. Another freaky thing is the way they fight - they "box" and "grab" each other's throats. So cute! :p

Oh, I do notice the smell, I do. Fortunately he's smart enough to use the clumping litter in his cage when defecating. :eww:
And yes, I think he prefers me to my gf because I'm the one who feeds him and plays with him most of the time. His stage trick is tickling me in the ear with his whiskers :)

I would've named him Catmeat.
Ha, I just got that. Good one.

The dogtrain looks great, they're right to fight for it. :D Unfortunately many doghouses are a pain in the eye - I have to look at some sort of miniature pink landhouse across the street.
