A little something I've been planning for a while, but the new server has some resources to spare, so here it is.
(
http://www.ttlg.com/online/) TTLG Online
A real-time map of the locations of all the people browsing the forums.
The map only gives a general idea of where the people are for two reasons. 1) We're using the free version of the component used to convert IP addresses into locations, and 2) to not identify anyone with any certainty.
It currently doesn't respect the same session inactivity time as the forums, so it will appear there are more people on the map than are currently browsing the forums. For the meantime, this is expected.
I have some plans for improvements, but I want to see what the reaction is first.
:D

That's pretty slick. Can you see me mooning you guys from here?
Seriously, that's really fun to see everybody!

I was going to ask how we weren't blocked in China, but Hong Kong is allowed to be a little more liberal I think?
Very interesting I must say!

Wow, we have Saudi and Chinese TTLGers. That does surprise me (unless they're government bots screening us out, of course!)

Apparently the Dakotas are too good for us!

They don't get the internet there.

Ah, you got that the wrong way around, Stitch.

Goodie!
Thanks, Dave. :)
So many Tanzanians and Peruvians love this place!

Indeed, I can see I'm using proxy which is about 165km away from me. Theoretically people can use proxies at the opposite side of the planet.
I'm green when it comes to networks, but at least Uplink taught me somethin', heh...
