First off, don't worry about Zappa. He's like Weird Al Yankovich in the respect that only sysadmins, some punks and prog rock fans actually think his music is anything other than a big, stupid gimmick. Not serious enough. It won't do. Guess who else is not serious enough? The Bloodhound Gang. Test Icicles! Bargain bin here we come!
:laff: :laff: :laff:

lol be sure to send me a copy
Comparing Zappa to Weird Al (AGAIN), regardless of whether or not you like their music, demonstrates how little of either you've listened to.
damn this last-edited shit it's ruining my form!!

Get some Mahler.
Das Lied von der Erde is pretty awesome, but Symphonies no. 1, 3, 4, 6, 9 and what exists of 10 are excellent.
Put on Symphony 3, sit back for a couple of hours (it's a bit shorter than that really), and chillax.

...in the respect that...
hurr my name is aja and i like funny songs!!!! my inability to take contemporary music seriously reflects the staggeringly tiny size of my penis

Just because you try and explain your stupid comparison doesn't mean it's the least bit apt. The fact that you dismiss Zappa as "funny songs" ... or even better, the fact that you compare him to the fucking Bloodhound Gang either means you're trying to provoke me (though I'm not going to start second-guessing everything you post), or you just have absolutely no idea what the hell you're talking about. I don't care that you don't like Don't Eat Yellow Snow or whatever song you're pigeonholing as his entire work, but when you start blindly ranting about the one subject of which I happen to know a little more than you, I'm gonna call you on it.
Also, I have no inability to appreciate contemporary music. Maybe you're just forgetting (lol) that I'm only 19 and there's about ten decades of good music out there that I haven't had a chance to listen to yet.
Also also, should I post a picture or what? ;)

Frank Vincent Zappa (December 21, 1940 - December 4, 1993) was an American composer, guitarist, singer, film director, and satirist.

Zappa proved to be one of the most prolific musician-composers of his era, releasing over 60 albums during his lifetime, almost all of which consisted of original compositions. He was also a renowned electric guitarist and a gifted producer-engineer who self-produced almost every recording he made after his 1966 debut.
