So the front page is this dark colour with the ttlg logo on it somewhere, and clicking on the links on the side (I was reading the Simulated/Player Skill stuff again) takes you to the news page which is the old front page (which has the same style and colour as the forum) and it's all a. a bit of a mess and b. kind of weirdly out of date in a stop-start way.
Shouldn't the front page be the same style as the rest of it? Can't the front page and the news page be integrated? And can't we get some more news up in there? The Dishonored DLC would have been an appropriate news item, no? In fact there have been a few things that could/should have been news to TTLG - the new System Shock 2 a-like game (I forget the name) and all the recent stealth things like Mark of the Ninja etc? No?
Just a thought or five.

Personally, I like the new dark format, but there definitely should be some consistency. I think what would be nice is if you could switch between a light or dark format as you see fit. I remember on the forums themselves we used to have the option to switch to a dark format, too bad it's gone.

Seems we're all about the forums then.

My first sentence was about the front page, sorry if that wasn't clear. Oh, and what I meant by consistency is that if the front page is staying as this new dark format, then any links should also reflect that same format of course.

I knew what you meant. I was just commenting that it looks like we're going to stay in limbo/fade away to just forums.

Oh. Yeah I'm surprised no one else has said anything in here.

There is a front page ?
Let me check... oh, (
http://www.ttlg.com/) yes you are right.
And after visiting just now I recall why I
never visit it. :p
It looks very confusing...
What is ttlg.com about ?
About posting news articles?
With just 1 article in 2012 this site seems
dead.
This might make new visitors believe they better seek elsewhere for whatever they are looking for.
And the links are confusing as well.
The links below the TTLG logo and the FORUM button take you to the
(http://www.ttlg.com/shownews.asp?id=898) old news section where you end up with quite a couple of
dead links and feels irrational to navigate through.
Why? The latest news are on the front page already.
I don't say that the
old News archive should go away entirely, but please make sure to indicate that it is old and potentially partially broken.
Otherwise I would guess the site is in the process of being entirely orphaned & will be abandoned sooner or later.
It should better be made clear on the front page that ttlg is primarily a
Forum for everyone who seeks camerades to share his joy with
Through the Looking Glass Studios Classic Games and whatsoever other games.
How about adding a counter about how many users are online?
It would point out that this site is not dead at all.
I don't care much about the actual layout/choice of colors, but
no 6-pixel fonts, please!!! :weird:
Within the forum I would appreciate a link to the NEWS - and maybe the NEWS ARCHIVE as well, since the front page will never become the page I will visit first as it is right now.

also there's commentary from dethtoll on there, no wonder nobody wants to read it

Who even owns or works on the site anymore? Digital Nightfall? Is he even still around? A brief search shows that he last posted just over a year ago, talking about Dishonored (good game, btw) =/

Since no one seems to either have the time or desire to update our front page on a regular basis why don't we just put some stuff on there that doesn't need to be updated? Links to the basic forums, as well as related sites like Southquarter, Dark Fate, or sites relating to other games for which there are regular forums here would be okay, but perhaps we should shy away from any kind of 'news' that would require regular updates or links to outdated interviews. I don't know; how about pics of the various games like Thief (all 3), Deus Ex (all 3), System Shock, etc.? It's not encouraging to click on our front page and see that the 'latest news' is from last year, so how about something or stuff that's more static and in no need of updating?
