(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1159741#post1159741) Over here Gabriel suggested that someone should make an Old Hat search plugin for Mozilla Firefox, so I did.
Inline Image:
http://www.ttlg.com/dave/nerd.pngDownload <a href="/dave/ttlgoldhatfirefox0.1.zip">this</a> (748 entire bytes) and extract it to your search plugins directory, which on Windows is
Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins and restart Firefox.
This has
NOT been tested thoroughly, in fact I've only used it once or twice on Firefox 1.0 (
Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0) on Windows XP and Windows 2000, so I take no responsibility for any loss of computer and/or limbs etc. :cheeky:
I'll probably knock one up for the forums themselves when I get home from work.

Now we have a search plugin for the forums themselves.
Grab it <a href="/dave/ttlgforumsfirefox0.1.zip">here</a> (766 bytes) and follow the instructions above.
This plugin will search all the regular forums and return results as threads. If anyone has a special request, IE a specific forum, or return results as posts then let me know and I'll do them. :)

David, you are really becoming the uber webmaster aren't you? I'm v impressed. Not only is TTLG great, but the staff have skillz!
Now if you could just sort out the PMs so read messages are marked as read when you read them it'd be flawless. :)

Actually, I think I've just fixed that! Let me know if it still happens.

Well reply to my last PM then! :sly: :p ;)

Don't suppose you could give me the results of a search that shows all of the URLs that have been posted on TTLG, in the last year or so?
Or, is it possible to use the current Search function do that? If so, how?
Reason I'm asking is, there was this website that used flash (No, really?), had a ton of buttons on the bottom half of the screen, and, IIRC, the concept was 'the way the world looks while high'. I've searched on all the keywords I can think of, but can't find it.

Sorry about the bump, but it still happens. Remember the PM I sent you last week? Well, I haven't recieved a new one after that, and it still says: "Private Messages: 1 Unread, Total 96"

Nice job on the plugins, David. Thanks for that. You know, I got halfway started with making the Old Hat search plugin myself a few days ago. Then I thought "You know, I should check if anyone responded to my post first."
I narrowly avoided creating an "Old Hat" search plugin that would have been Old Hat in and of itself.
I've been using an icon derived from the wonderful hat image on the (
http://www.ttlg.com/dave/oldhat.html) Old Hat Search page, so that it's easily differentiated from the generic TTLG Search in the pulldown.
Thus:

Gabers -
My question is: where did you find such wonderful search buttons? I went to the site that "Add more search engines" takes you to, and grabbed IMDb, A9, CDDB, and Wikipedia. But I couldn't find FedEx or UPS or UrbanDictionary. Even after going to the (
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html) page that "Find lots of other search engines" takes you to, I couldn't figure out where I needed to go next to get more buttons.
L'il help?
