I just missed the deadline to change my mind and spend 4 points bringing in Chopra. That's going to cost me, isn't it
I can see the future! Also, forgot to change the captain to someone who would have been playing, Arteta, which cost me more points - I think in all something like 10pts wasted there
D'Arcy on 15/8/2007 at 23:55
It seems my wildcard wasn't wasted. This decent score compensates that woeful first gameweek.

You've passed the injury plague on to me, you monster. I might have to play the wildcard to WEED OUT THIS PESTILENCE.
And, err, all the crapness. Which was probably my fault.
How come Dave is always incredible at this game for the first few weeks??
D'Arcy on 16/8/2007 at 02:10
Sure I did... considering that I just saw two of my players leaving the field injured as I was watching the Reading x Chelsea match, I'd say that the injury plague has certainly moved somewhere else... ¬¬
It's not my fault that you got so envious of my injury plague that you had to go and get one yourself.
Dave always does great at this before he loses interest and starts fielding five players every gameweek, because he doesn't replace any injured/suspended/transferred player.

I start off well because I'm able to (for the most part) pick players that I know, and then they all get injured and sent off and I have no idea WTF from then on. :(
This year I shall endeavor to pick a full squad for each week!

Week 10 has come and gone, and in the midst of my commiserations to my Liverpool-supporting friends last night, I wondered thusly: how goes the TTLG Memorial Vase?
Behold!

I did intend to post updates a few times over the last couple of months, but it would have just looked like bragging ;)
Actually given some truly poor managerial decisions (eg leaving Malbranque out the week he scored 16 points) I'm even more staggered at being 859 out of 1,445,628 players. It's all Elano.
I'm top of my work's league too, and I stand to scoop 240 notes (500 bucks and counting to our Yankee friends) if I'm still there in May :D

I've been neglecting my team. Worst manager.
Paz on 25/10/2007 at 15:37
Hot tip for anyone wanting to do well: look at whether I've chosen Elano or Fabregas as my captain at 10.55am, then select the other one.
Tottenham defenders - not a good idea. Even when they're secretly midfielders.

I'm in as st_patrick, leading my squad of Troll Hammers towards victory!
