I notice that when I get to the page to login, it automatically stats that I have used 1 out of 5 login attempts, even though I just got there! I also noticed that if you just refresh the page or click "back" and then "forward", yes, without even typing anything or clicking the login button, it uses another login attempt. So if I refreshed the page once, it would already state that I used 2 out of 5 login attempts. If I then closed my browser and navigated to/reopened this page again, it would state that I used 3 out of 5 login attempts.
Is this not a major bug? A login attempt should only be used if you actually click the login button, NOT for simply navigating to or refreshing the page! Also, is there a way to stop the site from automatically logging me out just because I stayed on the same page too long? Seems like if I spend a lot of time on making a post and then I click to submit it, the site prompts me to log in again before I can...

It should only state you have used a login attempt if you have submitted the login page with an incorrect password (otherwise it would have logged you in). If you're on a private computer then when you log in make sure you tick the "Remember me" option and you won't be logged out after a period of time.

Oh ok thanks for the info about the "remember me" option. I thought that only applied if you closed the browser, not after a specific period of time. However, I confirmed again that it still counts login attempts if you merely refresh the page or navigate to it again.
