Actually checked, there is 1 copy, hopefully it will still be there when I go.

I learned my lesson from The Big Sleep - don't read the book until right before the discussion, or I'll forget most of it.

I read Consider Phlebas by Banks and was kind of dissappointed. Still gonna read this one, though. I'm kind of curious about the 1st person perspective from the viewpoint of a psychotic.

I got Use of Weapons recently. Started to read it when I was in a bad mood. Saw that the first few pages were about a guy sitting in a chair getting wasted, and I was like "I am NOT reading another one of these!" so back to the bookshelf it went. I'll try it one of these days.

sup d00ds. Time to start making suggestions for November's book.
I resubmit Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem.

I thought you didn't like genre fiction?
Anyway after failing by a comfortable margin twice, I think it's time for Mr. Minotaur to retire.
So I'll resubmit Towing Jehova or Only Begotten Daughter by James Morrow (which ever sounds more interesting to you - Towing Jehova sounds a bit more interesting to me, but it's the first of a trilogy wheras Only Begotten Daughter is stand-alone and has won more awards).
Also resubmitting The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon. Weee.

Isn't Kat Richardson coming out with a book in October? (Just kidding. I know, it's too hard to procure, but I had to mention it.)

Unless her book is a masterpiece, that would be an awkward disaster.

I resubmit Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon.
