Cool, thanks, Neb! It was intriguing hearing the game play out as audio only, but I'm looking forward to actually *seeing* what happened.
I greatly enjoyed the Saturday missions. There's something about returning to the Operation Flashpoint islands that presses the big button labelled "Nostalgia" in me... and as we all know, nostalgia's always best when combined with liberal amounts of shooting at Russians.
I think I should be able to play again on 7 December; will post something on Steam as well as here to confirm it.

Just scheduled a game for 30 November. Neb, will your missions be ready to reduce us to tears? :-)
Neb on 26/11/2013 at 19:07
I've been super busy but i'll see what I can do to finish it. I will be able to make the session, but as soon as it finishes I'm going straight out to meet an old friend.

No worries - there's no need for the mission to be done for the next session. Plenty of coop missions in that CWR 2 pack, if I remember correctly. And we'll time things so you can leave on time; after all, usually I'm the one who has to cut the sessions short!
I've been trying some of the CWR 2 campaign, but I already ran into a weird bug in the first mission: I didn't get the menu option to board the truck. Don't know whether that's because of mods, but the ones I have (sthud and the like) usually don't interfere with the game.
Also, I've started watching some of the Shacktac videos. It's amazing what you can get out of Arma...

Great set of games on Saturday! (Neb, did you record any video by any chance?) I can't believe it's taken me this long to realise how much fun Arma MP is...
At the moment it looks like the next possible date for me is Saturday 14 December, again at 4pm UK time. By the way, if anyone wants to bring in more people, that should be fine - I imagine that from a certain group size onwards things would get fairly slow without a dedicated server, but since we're rarely more than four I expect we could probably double that number and things would still run smoothly.
P.S.: Looking forward to that mission you talked about, Neb!

Your videos are fun to watch, that's for sure. Tempts me into getting the game.

It's well worth getting into, if you're interested in a more realistic, open-world military game. However, the learning curve can be quite steep. Have you played any of the earlier games (Operation Flashpoint or the first Arma)?

I had that bug too, and so have many others in the BI thread. There are plenty of mission bugs all the way through the campaign, but to get past the training type left-shift + numpad-minus and then type "endmission" to skip the level.

I would join them in an instant if I was in their timezone.

I did, but the audio didn't record properly. :( I've fixed it so that it won't happen next time.

I have a copy of the Arma X bundle on Steam if you want it. Includes Operation Flashpoint, Arma 1, Arma 2 plus most DLC. It doesn't include Arma 3 though.

Neb: There's an updated version of the
Operation Flashpoint campaign for
CWR2; I think this is the link (can't check from work due to internet filters): (
www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=24909). I'm hoping I won't have to use 'endmission' too often, though.
As the one who cooks dinner, I can't even join Folk ARPS all that often, which is a shame. (Ah, for the fringe benefits of singledom...) I like the thought of joining large-scale battles more often. However, our small-scale engagements make for good practice; I'm already much less embarrassing when it comes to telling others that I've spotted an enemy. It used to be "... guy! ... ahead! ... he's got a- *BLAM*", now it's "There's a guy ahead, infantry, he's shooting at u- *BLAM*" :p

If there's one Folk ARPS session which you really should try and join, it's the (
http://www.folkarps.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=1139) Festive Special on Friday 20th December 8pm GMT. We're playing I44, the World War 2 mod, so it's M1 Garands all round. :D
I think Satire will be there too. He's usually around on a Friday.
