The Shock Multiplayer Project
What is it?
TSMPP is a project by me to take the Multiplayer List and make it into an interactive website with server listing, player listing, and scheduled games.
Server listing? How?
Server listing in the beginning will be done by posting a scheduled game, I recommend you do it at least a day in advance in the beginning to have other players "sign up" to play with you. A chat room will be made available 30 minutes prior to the game where you can organize and get ready for the game.
But how will this help?
It will be a central place for Shockers to get together to organize games in a more user friendly environment. The multiplayer list will allow members to contact other members via AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo E-Mail or Private Message on the list. The system its self will be a heavily modified bulletin board system that will go unnamed for now. (No, it is not vBulletin)
What is the catch?
Only one, there will be no set release date. When its done its done. The website will be up soon and a URL will be posted here. When new things are added there will be announcements on the website. This is just a little project for me to show clients when they come to me for web programming and such.
Will I have to install anything on my pc?
Later versions are planned to have a client that runs on the PC to send back when a user is online without having to login to the list, when a user is ready to play a game, and a live chat inside the client, but this is down the road yet.
Any questions or anything I might have missed?

- Damn, I always get: "Join failed"!
- Okay let me host.
- Sure, just let me change the serverlist first. Okay done. See you tomorrow.

I forgot how unpredictable the whole joining process was :( I'll have to figure out a way to quick swap who is hosting...

Okay but you see the main problem is usually to get a working stable connection. A dedicated website (although it sounds nice) doesn't change that.
Also I think you overestimate the number of games actually taking place.
