I'm trying to get full screen functionality back with my T3 installation. I used the loader to run the editor, but hadn't ever used it to play the regular game. Now every time I try to run the game (doesn't matter how I actually start it) it's in windowed mode, and alt-enter crashes me back to the desktop. I don't know where to look in the registry to see if the loader has modified some settings.
Anyway, I went ahead and uninstalled T3 and deleted the folder it was installed to and the T3 folder in My Docs, along with the registry entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ion Storm. I then rebooted, installed T3 as normal, patched it, and now I'm stuck with not being able to play in full screen mode.
Any ideas?

The key lines are in your DEFAULT.INI. Check that you have "StartupFullScreen = True" in all the places where it appears. That might solve the trouble.

That didn't do anything.
However, I did notice that if I start the game, go to options and set the display settings to what my desktop is (1280x1024) it will go to full screen. Of course, as soon as I change it back to 1024x768 it crashes. I can't very well play the game in a window because of the brightness issue, and 1280x1024 would mean I have to turn the graphics down to their lowest setting.

You might want to check your User.ini as well, for any windowing settings which would override those in your Default.ini.

I finally got it working again, I had to uninstall thief3, the editor, reboot, clear out the ion storm entry in the registry, delete the thief3 folder in my documents and delete the Thief3 folder in Program Files, then reboot again.
So I got it installed, it's working, but now I can't get the texture packs installed. Some of them work normally, but the "Misc" pack doesn't actually show any options when I go to install it, like this:

Did you remember to unistall John P. graphics before you uninstalled T3? It looks like you registry thinks the package is still in there so you can't reload it. You might be able to delete the registry entries and then try reloading, if you can find them. Sorry I can't help you look. I don't have T3 on this computer. :erg:

Yeah, I did uninstall all of them. I went hunting in the registry and came up with HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and found the entry for the texture pack there. I just deleted the whole thing and it's installing just fine now.

Don't know why the registry entries were still there, but I'm glad it worked.

Sorry to rebump this thread, but once again I'm unable to get full screen. Please note that changing data in user.ini and default.ini doesn't work.
I'd rather not have to spend another 3 hours uninstalling texture packs, uninstalling the game, reinstalling the game, copying and pasting, reinstalling texture packs, and the half dozen reboots this all requires just so I can have basic functionality.
Any ideas?

One last bump. I was planning on using this editor for a class project, but unless I can find some way to get it to not randomly refuse to run in full screen, I'll have to pick something else.
