I've been giving Deadwood a go too. On season 2 now. Liking it but the Calamity Jane character just bores me to distraction. Get shot already.

And I've been watching it too, but I'm most disappointed with the serious lack of boobies this season :(
I like this season better than the last one, in no small part thanks to Russell Edgington. That guy is seriously cool. Also Eric Northman.

Last spring some friends told me to give it a try, so I found the TB website (while it still provided freebie reruns) & after watching the first episode (1st season), I was hooked. Didn't wanna be, but there you have it.
Incredibly good looks notwithstanding, Alex Skarsgard has a long way to go before he's the same caliber actor as his dad, Stellan (imo), though I do see his potential.
Truth be told, I'm getting kind of tired of Tara being a drama magnet, though (Eggs took the coward's way out AFAIC and it's making me crazy that Tara's gone all crazy because he died). And what the hell is up with Sam? I'm having trouble understanding why all of a sudden Sam's gone off the deep end & released his dark side. What brought that on? (I was probaby taking a bathroom break when it was explained.) Right now the only character I don't love to hate is poor, sweet Terry. Oh yeah, and dumb, perpetually horny (but has a good heart) Jason.
P.S. I was surprised to learn that in RL Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer just tied the knot last month.
Who knew!?
Oh yeah; I'm hooked. :(

Against my better judgement, I watched a few episodes of this.
God hates fangs? Fang-bangers? Really? That's the best metaphor you could come up with?
The first two episodes did nothing to dispell the notion that it doesn't just reheat the same tired psychosexual vampire clichés.

I don't think anyone gets to criticize me for my TV watching tastes if they like this show

As I said, Season 1 is pretty much entirely terrible. Season 2 is when it starts genuinely taking the piss and becomes something special (though Tara is consistently the show's weak point).
