Finally T2 ran on my computer and now it wont anymore.
After 5 -15 minutes it freezes on various occasions and I have to end it via task manager.
Freezed when:
- I go in or out of the map screen
- I use the blackjack on someone
- Loading a saved game
- random
After ending I get no error message or something.
I run it on just 1 core and with the unofficial patch, and until now it went fine, as did TG before. I'm in the level with the masks and Gervasius now, maybe it's just on this particular level? Did someone else experience this?

Nope, that wasn't the problem. And T3 crashes, too -_-

still unclear whether you actually used Tafferpatcher or not. anyway, posting full system specs would be a good start.

Might be a video card problem and not a Thief problem. You fire up and intensive application and it overheats. Does your card have one of those tiny fans on it?
I had the same problem a little while back. Got a new card with massive heat sinks and no crappy fan.

Ok, I think I was a little unspecific, sorry about that. I'll try and tell you all about my PC - altough I don't know sh*t about computers in general, so if there are questions left, just ask.
Btw, I don't think that the problem ist Thief related either, cause all the other games lately crash from time to time, too. So if someone knows about hardware, please enlighten me!
And I installed Tafferpatcher, it ate all my saved games and the game still crashes after a short time.
These are what CPUID tells me:
Processor - AMD Athlon ll X3 435
Cores - 3 (I use 1 to run T2 and TG)
Mainboard - Gigabyte GA MA 770 UD3
Memory - DDR2, 2048 MB, 2 Channels
Graphic Card - NVDIA GeForce GT 240, Memorysize 1024 MB
Here's some screenshots from GPU-Z immediately after a T2 crash:

and a T3 crash:

as you can see, it isn't too warm at the video card.
And here's what GPU-Z says about my graphic card:
