I've been unable to view the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113428&page=14) 14th page of the Fallout 3 thread in GenGaming today for some reason. Every time I go to that page, it looks like I'm redirected to the 13th page.
Anyone else having the same problem? It happens both in Firefox and in IE, regardless of whether or not I'm logged in.

At this moment there is no page 14.
There are a couple of deleted posts on page 13, so maybe that's what happened? But right now there are only 13 pages.
And just to double-check... there are 326 listed replies, so with my thread view being 25 per page, that's only 13 pages.

I have the same thing as ig, it shows as being 14 pages long but only goes to 13.
Something must be afoot with the database somewhere.

Same here; though I saw earlier that Marlow had the 'most recent' post, and his/hers was the last on page 13, so I figured that someone's post had been deleted.

But it should be 14 pages: 326 replies plus the original post means 327 / 25 = 13 with two remaining. So those two should be on the 14th page, but instead they're at the bottom of the 13th due to the aforementioned baleeted replies.
Okay, that makes sense.
So it looks like the pagination is cached and out of sync with the number of extant posts in the thread. Also I can't decide whether I love or hate the word 'pagination' but I love the word 'extant'.
And sentence fragments, apparently!
Anyway, cheers guys. It'll probably sort itself out the next time someone replies to that thread.

So you'd think, but I noticed it happen before Sulphur posted and it hasn't resolved for me yet.

oh god math is so hard
Don't listen to me when I start using numbers. I suck at the numbers.
You're right, it should be 14 pages, with post #326 heading up page 14. But with the deleted posts on page 13, who knows?
This happened once before and it sorts itself out with a new reply, I think.
(edit)
Okay, I just replied and got the top post on page 14. But it still says 327 replies. Which should make me the second post on page 14. Or third, depending on whether the forums' definition of "replies" includes the first post. So it's still weird. But the thread isn't broken or anything.

There are a couple of posters in that thread who's posts are not being displayed due to them being obnoxious arseholes. This is what is causing the pagination error.
I shall look into it.

There are a couple of people who register alt-nicks, or just register and plain rag on the game without any constructive-ness to their post. Often this is done on their first post, so we either ban them (in which case they might come back!), or hide them, sometimes known as Hellbanning, where their posts cannot be seen by anyone but themselves.
Sadly there are a couple of bugs associated with this method, but it's never reared its head until now. You guys need to stop paying attention so much :mad::mad:
:D
