I just could never get into it when I was a kid. I was born in 1975, so I was only fucking 7 years old when it released. I was much more into Empire/Jedi/Indy. Then when Disney channel/Home Video started rolling, it was out there easily available. It would just put me to sleep. I only knew one kid who liked it, it just wasn't a part of my world growing up.
2.0 was ok, though.

But I was only twelve-years old when I watched it. I have grown up since then, and would probably view it now with a less critical eye.
Right, because pre-teens are known for their well-developed critical faculties, and adults... aren't? Wait, let's try that again--

But I didn't know shit about computers when I watched it. I have improved slightly since then, and would probably now understand the geek punnery that comprised the bulk of the script.
Ah, that's better.

Queue does kind of have a point, though. I grew up with the film and easily recognize it for the reasons ZB listed, but I've always felt that as a film it doesn't hang together all that well. At the very least, it certainly isn't of the caliber that renders it beyond critique on the internet.

Well yeah, a lot of the acting was terrible, the plot lurched randomly in places, the attempt at a love triangle fell flat, and the happy ending was the worst sort of Disney-mandated treacle.
Meanwhile, the latest Michael Bay shitfest is making hundreds of millions of dollars.

I'm only 26 so I missed out on the film. I remember seeing the end of it 15 years ago maybe, when it was on TV, but generally it's not part of my childhood.
I'll see the whole thing eventually.

26...seriously?
I thought you were like 17.
But anyway, I'm 25 and I remember it well. Might even go to IMAX for it.

Well hell, I'm 26 and I remember it pretty well m'self. My dad used to get me just about everything Disney to watch when I was a kid.
There was this time he cocked up spectacularly though, when he got The Wall when I was 11 because he thought it was some live-action/cartoon epic sorta thing. Saw it all alone, and hoo boy, did it give me nightmares for months after.

Oh yeah. My dad made a similar mistake with me when I was 6. Got me a cute little movie he thought would be great for me, about a family of cute rabbits looking for a new home.
To this day, I still have yet to muster up enough courage to watch Watership Down again.
