i found that if you have items worth 1gp and a good amount of them, sell them 1 at a time. you will get full value for them and it raises 1 point on how the person likes you, in no time you will be at 100 and able to buy or sell items for a better value.

A good, but tedious, plan. I prefer just to bribe 'em with 1,000 gold until they like me (but then, if you're trying to make money it defeats the purpose). I'll also usually cast a spell if it's just a one-time thing.

I try bribing with 10 gold, you can do that successfully even with low speechcraft usually, if they have higher speechcraft/reputation then I bribe with 100 gold. It trains your speechcraft and usually it pays itself off very quickly.

thanks for the info. i thought someone would find it interesting to read on selling and getting good prices, saves money but not time. i carry saltrice for this purpose, light weight and can drop if needed to make room.

Have you people no shame?
What Ric describes is a known flaw in the economy: no item can be bought or sold for less than 1 gold. You sell 100 saltrice one at a time for 1 gold each: net 100 gold. You buy it back in bulk for perhaps 50 gold. Repeat (and rinse since you feel dirty). It’s printing money and cannot be defended as anything other than an exploit of a bug. Save yourself some time and open the console and type:
player->AddItem “gold_001” 10000
…or as much as you please and be done with it. :tsktsk:

Ooh, someone's feeling sore because he hasn't the patience for exploiting the bug! ;)
No, I think it's worse when you buy and sell from the Mudcrab merchant. You get full price for everything and he has 10,000 gold. I do it anyway though because it makes me feel less dirty than the console.

I only sell of the armourer in Ebonheart fort. He has 3500 gold and I still end up with 100'000s, and thats not by buying a slightly less expensive item to try to get all my money; I just sell 1 item, buy some glass arrows, the speical hammer and then decrease the price untill he can afford it.
