Hey, it's never too late to fail a piss test I say.
Illuminatus actually made me want to wander around the middle east without a flack jacket and that's hard to do these days. I could get a killer tan with three foot beard and turban and still stand out like mustard on a wedding dress.

As if there were any other way to hitchhike in Jordan than with Bedouin robes and a dirty beard (just take them off before reaching the Israeli border haha).

Ive been wanting to travel the world; now after a few weeks jail and my current recognizance order I have decided to now travel the world (as much as i can) once i become free. I plan to just walk the earth and play guitar on street corners and hitch-hike. I also get free VIA rail because my dad is a railroad employ and he pays a train pass for 70% off. I probably won't ever make it out of Canada but i sure hope i can! I would also like to spend a week living deep in the forest, surviving off the land like Bear Grylls would.

Okay, there's a story here! You're posting from jail, John?
john-the-begger on 13/3/2010 at 15:13
No was in jail few months ago on remand, got bailed out awaiting trial on house arrest giving lots of dromed/thief time.

You have my support. I applaud your honesty. Thumbs up, bro.

If there's anything that would make you want to hit the road and explore life and possibilities, it's prison. Enjoy your freedom, john, and stay out of trouble!

Places I've been that have been my favorites and/or awesome:
Czech Republic. - Plzen. Stayed at a bed and breakfast. Old Czech Army Colonel ran the place. Showed me his military museum in the basement. He had a picture of him and Colin Powell. Also a picture of him and Alexander Haig. Traded military patches and things between us. Spent about 6 weekends here. Thought that was cool. Also spent time in Prague. Liked the wine cellars/restaurants. Castle was cool.
Poland - Wroclaw. The people here were fantastic. Everyone was friendly, even though most people didn't speak my language. Beer makes everyone understand each other. BMW mechanics in town, they are great guys. Trust me, they are the only BMW shop in town.
The Netherlands - Amsterdam was great to visit because everyone speaks English, and it's a good time anywhere you go. The art museums are awesome. I've also spent extensive time in the Maastricht and Brunssum areas. I really loved Brunssum. Stayed at a bed and breakfast up the hill from the Schinnen Air Force base. The lady there is pretty awesome. I got to know people there from many trips. Would like to go back. There's also a Mexican restaurant in downtown Brunssum when I was there. It was really good and authentic.
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia. Food is exceptional, and most people are pretty friendly. Chinese girls in discos have extreme fascination with white guys over 6 feet tall. Be prepared to be smothered in asian girls if you come alone. Like this is a bad thing? :D
Albuquerque, New Mexico. Oh the food. Man the food. Did I mention the food? It's all about the red or green chile. CHILE. It's a sauce, kinda like a salsa that they put on your food here. You either like red or green. Well, I like them both, but green is the best. I never had one bad meal in Albuquerque in the 9 weeks I was there. Also, go see Roswell, NM while you're down there.
Key West Florida. This is the ultimate destination you all need on your travel plans. Seafood, even if you never liked it, tastes great here. Try some. No one is in a hurry to do anything here. Take a boat tour to the Dry Tortugas. It's an island all the way at the end of the Keys. Do some scuba or snorkeling, or get out on the beach in Dry Tortugas. Just enjoy the place, as it's awesome. Rent scooters in Key West to get around. Be aware of your parking. They tow/ticket as fast as you walk away.
Places I've been and did not like:
London England. Meh. Expensive. Had more fun in Dover. The castle/keep totally awesome!
Paris France. It was nice to see architecture and historical things. People there put me off. I understand everyone in the world tramps through your city, but when I speak to you clearly in your own language, don't treat me like an asshole. I know you hear my English accent, but you understand me. My Belgian girlfriend's mom swore I was a Frenchman when I called her house. Had more fun in Reims and Lille. The small towns in France are the places to spend your enjoyment time. Get yourself a bed and breakfast. Wake up at dawn to get a baguette at the local baker. There are out of the way restaurants, where the dinner that night, is whatever the guy shot in the forest/fields. Be prepared to eat well, and pay a king's ransom, but it's worth it.
Saudi Arabia. Seriously, can I actually talk to someone who is from this country? No? You're all too busy. Ok, I'll just interact with the people from Pakistan, Chad, Egypt, Morocco. Saudi's seem too busy or untouchable to actually do any work or interact with foreign visitors. But they hire some good people from around the globe to do so. Near Riyad, I found that I'd like to not go back. Food was excellent though. Prepared by people from anywhere but Saudi Arabia. Lack of beer/wine was a huge ball-buster too.
Places I desire to visit. Let me know if I should avoid any
China. I'd like to do the Great Wall and Western Desert tour. Also, Sichuan province. Their food flavors are among my favorites. The pepper. Gotta eat the peppers. Has anyone been to the western desert in China? I'd like to trek out there. Find some vendors and such. I'm talking, like Hotan. Maybe a little silk road kinda trek.
Australia. Not sure if I'd wanna do east/west/north or Outback, but yeah, I'd like to visit.
Alaska. Yeah, it's a part of my country, but you have to go through Canada to get there, or take a plane. Just wanna see the wild life and mountains.
Antarctica. I see there's a cruise for like $15,000 that can get me there from Chile. Ok, this is pricey. But how many tourists have been to Antarctica? I feel I must set foot on the continent, so this might even entail more cost.
Africa I am not sure about any location here. Things never seem stable to us outsiders. I'm sure there are great places to see. Savannah, jungles, deserts. Shit here kills people. This is one continent where roaming about without a plan can get you in serious shit. At least that's what I've been taught and have seen from my research.
India From the time I was a child, I had an urge to go to India. I know little about it. There's just some longing I cannot explain. Pictures of the Taj Mahal and the countryside have put something in me to go here. I can't explain. I had an Indian girlfriend once, but she lived in Malaysia. Her last name meant Dancer of the Stars in Tamil. When I met her, it felt like something long and forgotten had woken up. I think maybe in a past life, I may have been Indian. I love curry!
