What I noticed:
See how they put the yellow VW beetle right next to the "new" bumblebee camero in the used car lot?
While all of the designs for the transformers are very "I have no idea what I am supposed to be looking at" the new design for Starscream is really the only one that makes me go :eww:.

Ooh, shiny! Optimus Prime made the right noise when transforming; this raises my hopes considerably.

I'm not much one for hype ... but when Steven Spielberg tells me to my face (in the featurette) that "this movie is going to blow you away", that's practically a warranty. Steven fricken Spielberg can't just say a movie he's produced is going to blow me away and not mean it.
Seriously, though, I still haven't completely made my peace with CG characters in live-action movies. I understand that they are pretty much the best of all possible alternatives, and they improve by leaps and bounds every year. King Kong was the first movie that really sold it to me. But I still feel like something is a little ... off. Still looking forward to this, though.

I also liked that, but I'm afraid that this bit of fanservice may only be in the trailer - or possibly only in that particular sequence. None of the other transforming scenes in the trailer had it.

Wow. Just wow. It looks like Armageddon meets Maximum Overdrive.

Nobody prejudges unreleased material with quite the same degree of flair as you, ZylonBane :thumb:

The trailer isn't unreleased material, genius.

Nor quibbles as well on the finest of points.

Golly gosh dem, I've seen the light, nobody should form opinions of a movie based on watching the trailer.
So uhhh... remind me why trailers exist again?
demagogue on 19/5/2007 at 00:57
Uh, shameless marketing? ... whether it represents the movie well or not.
Edit: Well, whatever, there's not even an worthwhile argument here. I don't really care why trailers exist. I just thought what I posted was sort of funny ... heh, quibbles. Nice to see you haven't lost your edge, though.
