Weren't all those old cartoon shows (Transformers, He-Man, Thundercats) just a gimmick to sell toys? Bugs Bunny stomps them all.
This would imply the these cartoons came out first when infact the toys were created first sold really well. Then the comicbook was created and it help sell even more toys. Finally the Cartoon series came out and it created a Robot Fan Base in which there is a Robot Convention, 100s maybe even 1000s of TV shows and cartoons with a robot or robots in it, and some people trying to create real robots for fun or science

Q: I always wondered - what was the point of the Transformers? Who made them and why?
A: From the storyline Cybertron and Unicron were living being fighting each other when they past into a Dimensional portal throwing them both in separate direction while turning them into metalized planets. Both being very weak from there battle. Uncron devoured planets to build up energy fast which he used to transform himself into a robot. But he discovered in robot form he uses why too much energy than normal so he stay in planet mode while he searchs for Cybertron. Cybertron on the other hand builds his energy slowly knew Unicron would eventually come to finish off the job creates robots. Cybertron goes threw several Robot evolutionary cycles before the Autobot and Decepticon come to power.
Also Unicron and Cybertron are mentally linked

Ugh. I like everything but how the robots look. Unfortunately, that's kind of pivotal.
