For the record I like the Michael Bay Soundtracks, not just for Transformers (although that is awesome).
For the record, I kinda see Scots point on Taken, but it doesnt stop my enjoyment of the movie; and agreed Liam Neeson goes fucking Jedi on those human trafickers asses in it; so that makes it worthwhile.

I saw this last night with my cousin. Our verdict - better than the first film, the action had certainly been taken up a notch. Not exactly Casablanca but decent enough to while away two hours with.

Taken was another Ramboesque type of work, i mean take the part in the apartments. Tell me killing everything coming up & down the stairs was not "taken" from the Rambo Manual.
did like the movie tho, Easily the best part was when he shot the commissioners wife at the dinner table, that was just sweet.

I am one of those rare folks that just shut up and let the movie roll. I had fun with it, but I realize that it was no Jaws. It entertained me a d my girl for an evening, which was exactly what it set out to do.

 Why is that when someone says that they would prefer that their 'popcorn' films weren't a bloated, incoherent mass of sloppy filmmaking, that they get pegged as people who can't just 'shut up and enjoy the show'? I get really fucking sick and tired of this kind of defense for shit films. I don't expect, and nor does anyone else here, life changing cinema from the latest blockbuster but, fuck, is a too much to ask for a little quality, or even just plain
competent filmmaking?

Didn't you know that having standards automatically means that you're a douchebag, Angel Dust? I thought that was common knowledge...
WingedKagouti on 27/6/2009 at 12:47
Of course, being able to enjoy a movie makes you an even bigger douche.

My point is that I don't sit back to 'critique' a movie with my girl until the damn thing is over. I let the movie do its thing until it's over, then I figure out if it was shit or not. But while it is playing, I just absorb it. That's all. I have no huge tolerance for crap, you missed the point/

For the record, movie viewers like Angel Dust and I don't enter a theater with a measuring stick and a report card.
We do, however, enter with your girl.
