I have a question about the "New Message" icon in the thread list (the arrow icon appearing in front of threads that have new messages):
Sometimes it happens that these icons are cleared when I browse the forum for some time and then go back to the thread list. They also get cleared if I don't actually enter a forum but only go to the forum list (or just the main page) and then leave the site. Next time I come back, all new message icons are cleared. Because of that it's difficult to keep track of unread messages sometimes.
Is there anything that can be done about it (or do I do something wrong)?
Suggestion: An option on the profile page to disable automatic message tracking. Users could still klick on "Mark this Forum Read" to clear the markers.

The idea is to show new posts since your last visit to the entire set of forums, not individual ones. :)
Afaik there is not an option to do what you are proposing.

The tracking often fails to work for me. I sign on, and all threads with new posts are highlighted. I post a reply, go back to the forum mainpage, and the highlighting is gone. It's an insignificant problem, though, and probably nothing to do with the forum software.

This is often attributed as a bug for vBB - the boards have recently been upgraded to 2.2.9 - are you still experiencing this problem Bumbleson?
