The new DOOM is on this one. Also they came to their senses and removed Thief 2 from it. Actually, hold that, they have not come to their senses. Alien Isolation is on the list. Twentysecond best first person shooter? Alien Isolation. Jesus Christ. You'd think they'd just narrow it down to a Top 40 list or something if they can't think of enough actual FPS's to put in there.

This also has Quake #1, which was obviously where it should have been on the first list since it's the greatest FPS of all time.

Compared to the original list, much improved. Still no Painkiller, though.

Hmm I'd put Doom (original) over Quake 1. But I can see why Q1 was significat for the technological achievements and what it spawned. But the base game and shoot shooty? Yea Doom all the way.

Supposedly the list is more about what is actually a good game now rather than what influenced what. We wouldn't have Doom if it weren't for Hovertank 3D but I wouldn't rate it above Quake.

Well if we're gonna get all patriotic n shit, allow me to list...
THE 10 BEST GAMES MADE IN FINLANDaccording to henke
(sticking to 1 game per developer or this would be mostly Remedy and Bugbear)
1. Max Payne (I mean c'mon)
2. Rally Trophy (Bugbear made a lot of cool racing games. Flatout, Wreckfest, that Ridge Racer one, but Rally Trophy is definitely my fave.)
3. Trine 2 (still some of my fondest co-op memories)
4. Trials HD (aka Trials 3. The one I got really into. They're all good tho.)
5. Supreme Snowboarding (still my favourite snowboarding game, developed by Housemarque, more famous for Super Stardust and Resogun)
6. The Swapper (tough puzzles, fun mechanics and a real mindfuck of an ending)
7. Shattered Horizon (this zero-G multiplayer FPS was tragically shortlived, but I (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuQX3MEGcJc) loved it when it was at it's peak.)
8. Liero (Liero was the shit, man. Back in the day. You don't even know, bro.)
9. Project Black Sun (indie metroidvania that not a lot of people played, but I did, and I enjoyed it a lot)
10. Rochard (this was PRETTY GOOD)
(and yes, there's plenty of big names left out. Angry Birds, Cities in Motion, Legend of Grimrock. I haven't played those.)
edit: oh shit I forgot SLICKS N SLIDE!

DAMN STRAIGHT. Everything Remedy's done should be there.
Also, Legend of Grimrock II (I know lots of people loved I, but I think II was miles and away the better game) should have a mention in the main list. Play et, henkester.

I COULD list the best games made in Canada, but you guys would get jealous.
Plus I'd have a damn hard time deciding.
For the Finland list above, FlatOut 2 is the Bugbear game I have the most experience with. Pretty fun game. I'd rank The Swapper as top of that list personally, though. I really, really liked that game.
I should really finish going through my game library and fill in the country of origin for the rest of them. I don't have any Australian games listed!

Ah. Happy belated Australia day.
I'll wait until July :)
