I notice in his profile it says "fluke has no friends yet". That is just stupid wrong. He made a friend out of everybody he met. The "no" needs to be taken out of that sentence. Then it would be true. He was a hell of a man and he marked folks for keeps.

I can't remember what I did yesterday, but I remember with exact clarity the email I received in the middle of the night (2am-ish) from his daughter, telling me that fluke was gone. It was like all the air had suddenly been sucked out of the room. Then I lost it - totally, waking my husband up and bawling my head off. Once I'd regained some semblance of composure (or, at least managed to operate my keyboard) I posted here.
He was a man like no other, and I so completely knew that one day I was going to Australia to drink my ass of with Mr fluke. So, it won't be Australia, but dammit... wherever he went is where I'm going because we ARE gonna have those drinks. And I'll sit on his lap and twirl his moustache, too!
He called me "The Divine Ms M" and that will always be one of the greatest compliments I've ever received.
Fluke has LOTS of friends here, and I predict that through the magic of eerie admin powars, this will very soon be reflected in his profile. ;)

Which isn't to say he'd mind one way or the other. I reckon he'd be all over facebook et al.

I recall him perfectly, he could withstand my crappy english, so he was super cool in my book, and also he was a very interesting person, it was sad to see him go to a superior life so soon.
