Science being a work in progress is funny like that, at least in terms of our understanding.
Who's to say that something won't come along and turn our present understanding of natural law on it's head like has been done so many times before?
For the record, I agree with what you say. I'm just not so sure that we've gotten the big picture just yet.
See, maybe it's the bogeyman that holds the answers to all of the universe's closest guarded secrets and all of this physics and math malarchy has just been a colossal waste of time?

Agreed, we certainly don't have the big picture and no scientist worth his salt would believe such a thing - I think that is amongst the most important of the parts that comprise a scientist

If you're totally wanting to read the whole article, hit me up in irc or pm (though I dare say NS is worth the money, they you get one every freaking week, I can't even keep up).
As per the couple posts above, you make valid points, but whatever is really going on has to be so much more complicated and intricate than our minor perceptions of the world. Its the same as discussing whether god exists. I cant prove he doesn't, but I think I could make a reasonable argument that whether he does or not, the real answers are a lot more interesting than anything we could come up with. We view everything in human terms that really only apply to ourselves, not the universe. These concepts most likely only make any sense to our own minds, they are things we create to explain what we cant explain. Even if something supposedly supernatural is happening, you can bet your ass there is a lot more to it than what we think.
