edit: I'd forgotten that Janeway & Chakotay actually did do the deed - when they landed on a strange planet & ended up morphing into another species (they actually had offspring of a sort). But that wasn't exactly what I'd hoped their relationship would become.
Wasn't that Janeway and Paris?
Oh god, someone kill me :(
Dia on 7/5/2006 at 14:35
No; Paris & B'Elanna Torres had a thing, remember? Paris was Janeway's 'bad boy', but not romantically.
Oh God why do I know these things? Shoot me next after D'Juhn, please.

I think there's two episodes combined into one SUPER EP here.
Janeway and Paris did do the deed in the episode where Paris breaks the Warp 10 barrier and er.. 'evolves' into some lizardy thing. Janeway does too, although she may have already been a gross lizard I can't tell.
It seems implied that Janeway and Chakotay went at it like rabbits when they had a crazy disease or something and were left on a planet.
God damn Voyager blew, apart form the Borg. I liked the Borg.
LesserFollies on 7/5/2006 at 15:46
Did they ever actually do it? (Janeway and Chakotay) I remember them peeking coyly at each other from behind the little screens that hid their beds, but I got the impression it never went beyond that. I could barely stand that series, mostly because of Janeway's nanny-goat voice. TNG was brilliant.
Dia on 7/5/2006 at 15:49
I don't remember that Warp 10 episode; now I'll have to save my pennies to go out & buy all the seasons. But it was Chakotay & Janeway that turned into slimy lizard type things.
So you were assimilated, huh David? I resisted them, as futile as it may have seemed.
Besides, I knew that even if I gave in, I'd never end up looking like Seven (probably more like Jean-Luc). Totally unappealing concept.

It was Janeway and Paris, not Chakotay ;). Season 2, "Threshold" - when Tom broke the Warp10 barrier. That episode was of course written by Braga.

Dang! I probably just wanted it to be Chakotay, not Paris. My memory sometimes fails me. :(
I did like the fact that in Nemesis Janeway was an admiral (or something upper echelon?). I always wished they could have expanded on her part in that movie, but it obviously had nothing to do with Picard's latest predicament.
Her voice notwithstanding, I really did admire her character and the way Mulgrew portrayed her. I also laughed my socks off whenever Q showed up to torment Janeway (especially the time he decided they should breed). :cheeky:

and you yourself said it, Dia... don't be ashamed. It beats other interests I can think of.
(but, if any of you find the Klingon Pain Sticks to be an intriguing idea... I don't really need to know)

Problem is that back then there was never a chance in hell that any
lasting relationship would ever grow between any characters:
Another B&B edict. No relationship was ever allowed to last. I guess, sex was OK (all the way back to 1st season TNG), but love was right out. I think any combination of the whole Worf/Dax/Troy/Riker/Picard (wait a minute... how'd he get in there?) thing in TNG was always intended to fizzle after a while.
Now that I think of it, there was quite a bit of sex on TNG (but not including Wesley and Ashley Judd... hmmmm....that would have been interesting), but no lasting "thing".

Voyager indeed blew. Every time I watched it all Janeway did was the "Im a strong woman and just because Im a woman doesnt mean I cant give people the business" bit, least thats how it seemed to me. I didnt think she had any depth, and I didnt like the rest of it much either. I'd say it had some ok episodes but I didnt watch enough of them to find out.
And yeah, the borg kick ass.

And the Ferengi cracked me up (always wanted to name one of our pets 'Moogie').
Most of the little amount of DS9 that I saw has faded from my memory, but I don't think I'll
ever forget Quark! :laff:

:wot: Q was in Voyager? Now
that I would have definitely wanted to see! I
loved Q in TNG.

What about Riker and Troy? They got married in Nemesis.
And yes, I know this is Old Hat, but the thread is just begging for it: (
