They could get an irritable dog to do the motion capture for Spock and then smooth it out in post-production.
Use a confetti machine for special effects in teleporter scenes, smooth it out post-production.

Star Trek was eternally fucked when they decided to do a series on UPN.

so you're saying from "Next Generation" on, then?

...I think that's what he's saying!

I dunno. I never got into Star Trek much. All a bit hokey with the rubber mask and 'oh look he's an alien because his skin is BLUE and he only has ONE eyebrow...' Shatner got on my fucking nerves and so forth. I kind of liked NG and even DS9, but Voyager sucked and when I caught an episode of Enterprise it was like watching the damn 90210 kids running around in spandex space suits with Bakula trying hopelessly to anchor the whole thing with his terrible Picard impersonation.
Other than that, great series! :thumb:

So this is where the nerds start arguing about who should play Spock and who should play Kirk ?

Oh well, maybe it is a bit premature, obviously it is still cool to hate star trek. Seriously folk if you don't "get it" don't watch it - no one is forcing you - some rich and powerfull people do like star trek and the folk in charge obviously think there are still enough of us small people geeks that will go and see it in the cinema.
Where enterprise stumbled at the beginning was trying to bring in a new audience - then they realised that they should actually be playing to the home crowd, the geeks that like star trek - same applies for nemesis... Hopefully they will find the balls to make a film that will just please the fans!. None of this rubbish self indulgence that only reaally geek star trek fans get (such as filling a film with off stage in jokes) but just a great space action adventure with the crass moralising that we have all grown to know and love. The worst thing the star trek franchise does to itself is when it gets embarrassed to be star trek (next on the list is indulging egos!)
And hell at the risk of sounding geeky for daring to be enthusiastic about startrek... what the hell do you mean that archer is like picard?!? (after seven years and a few films picards character has changed from eager explorer to diplomat to warrior to father knows best... archers goes under a drastic shift - in the term of 2 seasons - explorer to warrior/cynic)
--- if they make a film about Wesley Crusher falling into a black hole I would go and watch that... but only if he doesn't actually say anything intelligible, indiscernible screams are encouraged despite the bending of the laws of physics.

I don't know about this.....
I actually liked Nemesis, and if they did make another movie, I would want it to be about either TNG (with B-4 either slowly becoming Data or having already undergone a complete transformation) or Enterprise. I'm a big fan of Star Trek, but I don't know what to think about this. I'm all for another movie, but the subject matter seems.....old. Especially since there have already been six movies featuring TOS. I dunno. We'll see.
