The appeal of the original movies what the dudes in the suits - that they were live action. Corny, yet amusing.
This looks just...cheap. Yeah, like a low budget movie. I mean, 5 years ago computer animation gave us The Spirits Within - admittedly that was really expensive, but as noted, that was 5 years ago. Obviously they don't need to go for photorealism but...it's just kind of ugly. Exagerated animation, and they don't even have eyeballs. Where's the funny? If "I fell down" is the height of comedy, I'll pass.

All I'm going to say is, if you remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie as being bad, go back and watch it now.
It's fucking brilliant.

Yeah I always thought it had a lot of clever jokes/dialog. I like the style in this new one
except that the turtles look skinny.

Yeah, what's up with that? Teenage Food-Disorder Turtles?
They're the world's leanest fighting team! (See our ribs?)

Once they're out of the shadows and finished being all edgy, they seem fine to me.

Well I'm pleasantly surprised. I finally got around to watching the trailer and so far this looks excellent. The stylized design is impressive and the turtles themselves look good (no pupil kru reprazent). The tone suggest some fidelity to the original comic, and even the physical humor towards the end serves well to alleviate the mounting tension and indicate that the movie won't take itself too seriously.
I long ago lost interest in the turtles as a certain level of maturity brought the realization that the comics weren't nearly as good as I thought they were, but if this gets good word of mouth I might have to check it out.
Best part: not one single "cowabunga"

As for this new one, the style of animation looks great, but why are their eyes glowing white with no pupils,

What purpose did posting those comic scans have?
Scots Taffer on 26/7/2006 at 13:11
Do you know a saying beginning with GET and ending with OUT?
Sgt_BFG on 26/7/2006 at 13:14
Yeah, but I'm here to stay! :thumb:
I liked the cartoon when I was but a mere hobbit, I hope this film will be same quality/better.
And like Stitch said, hopefully no 'Cawabunga'
