On normal difficulty, is it possible to kill or destroy him? Yes, you need to get something before you go inside...

I'm still in the middle of the mission but just wanted to say holy crap is this good. At this rate it'll take me a year to work through all the FM's in this contest but its so amazing to be playing such awesome levels 20 years after the release, you guys rule.

I, too, am only part way through the mission, but I say, Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a Winner!
Of COURSE a 20-year anniversary celebration of Thief 2 should be all about Karras and Mechanists! Nothing could be more appropriate.
And, so far, I am blown away. The scope, the scale, the design, the FEEL that we are in something of truly epic significance. . .all spot on.
THIS is the culmination of the 20-year saga of Karras vs Garrett.
I can't wait to see how it ends!

So, did finish the mission. Overall, it´s awesome and looks great! I like the dystopian atmosphere.
Also nice to have a bot which is clearly the one in the demo briefing video of the game.
However, there is a thing, that is a bit disappointing. It can also be seen as my fault for beeing a bit careless, but still...it is the reason why I don´t see the mission as my No.1 of the contest(at first I would have!). That is:
The area where the factory key can be found has a design flaw. The thing is, the bots can open the doors that are locked. I missed fhe factory key, therefore I thought it was intended to lure the bots to open the door and then follow them. While the mission still can be won, I soft-locked the the optional objective there for me, as I later found out the key to the cold room is nearby the remains of Nika - and I couldn´t acces that area anymore as the door closed immediatly. Also because the giant elevator was up and it has no button to call it down. Therefore, as much as I like the mission, I will deduct some points in my rating. Sigh. I would have preferred it that there would be a way to get back there. Blasting doors doesn´t work...well.
Maybe I missed a way to reach the area again, but I don´t see it for now. I tried jumping without success. I could even try to glitch through the door, but I want to win the mission legit. Well...I guess everything comes with a grain of salt.

I'm crashing instantly, I can't quick save. How do people play this mission??
edit. updated to 1.27 and seems to work

Finished in [insert time units, but irrelevant] with 8 of 9 secrets (actually acquired before any of the primary objectives) and short only 525 loot.
And I am pleased to say that I did it without referring even once to any information on this thread for hints. (I might now look for a hint for the ninth secret, but only now that I finished it on my own).
My experience:
I name this the greatest Thief mission ever made--by anyone at all, including Looking Glass-- and hands down the contest winner, even though I still have several missions to play. It is the absolute perfect culmination of twenty years of Garrett vs Karras in The Metal Age, as is befitting a twentieth year celebration of Thief 2.
Concept, design, scope, originality, variety, artistry, detail, story basis, sheer ambition--everything--as perfect as can be done.
It feels like the end of an era in some ways, though I hope equally great missions will continue to be made. But I think I can fairly say that Thief-ing will never be better than this.
Many fantastic missions have been made over the years, each displaying staggering levels of creativity and dedication. What an enormously lucky community we are to have such talent, generosity, and selflessness put to work for our entertainment. Not a mission creator myself, I can only genuflect with the greatest respect for those who are.
The Builder's blessings on Those Who Dromed.
Peace.

BTW is there any possibility to contact the author(s) of the mission? (not sure if a single person or multiple ones)
Didn´t find any contact details in the description, a specific user account here ore on thiefguild.com
If you are the author and read this, feel free to PM me. I have an inquiry about it - what it is, I will tell you then.
