Go into the fire

There is no fire in this room, a locked door and a Mech blast door, which is the door I'm pretty sure I'm meant to go through but it's shut fast, but there is a slight flashing around the edges of the Mech blast door that imply there could be a fire behind that door. What opens the Mech blast door?

I had the same problem. Ended up getting the 1.1 version and then it was already open.

You've got to be joking.....
I've checked Dromed and there is not meant to be a Mech blast door in that room, well yes there is but it's teleported into place when you open the door leading to the underground aqueduct, which is the door I accidentally opened using the engine exploit bug, so I have inadvertently sabotaged my own gameplay......
Evil, evil, evil....:ebil:

Wow, I can't believe how many people are finding that exploit. None of the testers found it, and there were quite a few.
Seems v1.0 can be easily game-breaking. Best to play the new one, if you haven't.

How are people playing 1.1? They accidentally zipped the root folder, not the files in it as a package. Are you guys downloading 1.1 and then fixing the files manually? It should just be opening to Running interference if you try to play
venkus on 27/3/2020 at 04:32
Yeah, I just unzipped and rezipped it properly

Yes, just to back up what others said, if you get the lockpicks early via the "lean into the door and flip the switch" routine, you will break the mission badly. The entire flow of the mission will be disrupted, you'll miss conversations and objectives, and quite a few areas will be inaccessible. You can still finish the mission, but you'll only be getting about half of the full experience. Definitely restart with version 1.1, or just don't use the exploit.

I may be the most degenerate gamer here, what with speedrunning the game and breaking it for my own amusement. But even I wouldn't try to continue after frobbing a switch through a door
DirkBogan on 27/3/2020 at 04:59
Well, the problem is that even if players do the right thing and don't use the exploit, the damage was done if they even frobbed it. Hard to know that you've affected TeleportTraps and other things just from opening that door by accident!
