hello,
I've just returned to Thief worlds after a few years
I've setup widescreen tweak v2 to 1920x1200, yet, although using a system (coreduo8500, XFX8800gtx SLI) capable of handling latest titles (Farcry2, FlightSimulatorX, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, GTAIV ....) at that resolution, scrolling the view is not as smooth as I would expect
maybe a widescreen tweak shortcoming (nonetheless I'm "praising the builder" for this gift :) ) ... or maybe there's some tweak to be made in Nvidia (or Nhancer's) control panel ... or maybe that's the way it is
which way?
thanks

Hi there
Thief and SLI:
Thief dosent utilise dual gfx cards, which I found when I had a pair of 7800GT sli'd - so since then I have always gone for a single powerful gfx card i.e. 7900GTX, X1950XTX, HD3850, 8800GTX, GTX280.
Thief and Widescreen and DDfix
Thief needs extra graphics grunt for this. And when you introduce DDfix into the mix that add's to the overhead.
My setup
As indicated above I now have a GTX280 and I can run T1 & T2 in widescreen @1680*1050 with 8xAA and 16xAniso smoothly. T3 runs @168081050 w/4*AA & 8*Aniso.

Another thing to consider when comparing Thief performance to more modern titles is that on a multicore system, unlike newer games, Thief only ever gets to use one processor.
