Never heard of this "Titanium" style.
But I always play with these simple rules:
-Max 20 arrows, of any kind. If a mission starts with 50 sharp arrows already in your quiver, then that's 0.
-No gadget pickups outside of the pre-mission screen, except for crystals.
-Ghosting a mission provides 100% of the collected loot. Any KO or detection means you can only spend Gold in the following mission, Goods and Gems are gone.
-No saving, unless on exit, and if I die, I skip the mission and make no purchases for the following mission.
Never had a name for this, but I might call it Wooden Man Style from now on ;)

I did not know that about Assassins. I did try BJacking one but it caused mission failure and I just assumed they were both protected. So you are suggesting that if I BJack the correct one I can let the other walk off far away, then just walk with the other at my leisure? Sounds interesting.
Possibly it works only in TDP. Just tried it in TG and it did not work. They definitely changed something at the start of that mission, because in TDP it's quite easy to keep Farkus alive while in TG all but the slightest movement triggers the killing arrow.

Yeah, actually the eidos forums never were more that a bunch of people who hadn't found ttlg yet. ;-)

You can't KO the assassins at the start of the mission in NewDark, especially since the blockjacking exploit doesn't work at all anymore.

I've never tried it, but I would imagine that failing to mantle/missing a jump and falling to your death would be #1 cause of failing a run :)
Just reminded me of Mages Air Tower. There is one bit where you come out halfway up shaft with the exit point above you, and the moving platform zig zags rather than going straight up and down. The jump from the platform to the upper exit was also a stumbling block until I hit on the idea of not attempting it while the platform is travelling up, but instead wait until it is descending then you can just jump and mantle up quite easily.
There are several jumps that cause me apprehension before doing them, but can't think of any others where I consistently fail.
As for self-made playstyles I did consider a Mafia playstyle where there must be no witnesses. If a guard doesn't spot you great, but any guard that enters hunt mode or higher alert must die. Didn't really do much for me though in the end. I prefer "challenge" playstyles rather than "stylistic" playstyles.

Ah, I see, don't knock him out by attacking but by blocking. So there's a use for that quirk after all. Works in TG too.

I guess I'd skip that tower because it's too dangerous and take the upper entrance to the fire tower directly (by keyholing). Far less risk involved in that.

Nowadays I sometimes muse about a "maximum evidence" style of play. :-)

Why not just skip all elemental towers and go straight to the cental tower then?

Because you need the key from the fire tower.

Well... I've never heard of the Titanium Man playstyle before. Sounds interesting.
I might give it a try
I'd recommend anyone who has played the games a fair bit give at least the Iron Man rules a try.
With the save safety net you may have become used to floating through the levels like a butterfly, stinging the guards like a bee, but removing that safety net can bring back some of the tension, when you are low on health and know that you cannot afford to slip up, or know that missing that jump is not an option. Well that was my experience anyway.

Based on what I have read about keyholing that can also be dangerous. But I do not wish to use "cheats" to circumvent paths you were meant to go down. May as well just use level skip until you get to The Maw if you do :)
