If you have attempted to Titanium Man Thief Gold or any of the games which missions were your stumbling blocks, if any?
For me it is missions that have twisty turny underwater routes to navigate (Lost City, Song of the Cavers, The Maw) because I have difficulty seeing that well underwater.
And Assassins can be a stumbling block. More specifically the start where you have to tail those two men. It seems easy on paper and it sort of is when I am doing it "normally", but on a TM run it has tripped me up a few times.
Oh and in the Burrick caves in Bonehoard. When you first walk down the plank, turn left into the main cavern, then have to make it up into the exit that is in the wall on your left side. I know there is a rope there but I often miss it and try to just mantle in. That can get awkward when they are expelling gas at you and you really need the mantle to catch so you can escape.
EDIT For those who do not know, "Titanium Man" is one of the great playstyles invented by the Thief community.
The one where you complete the whole game without once dying, failing a mission, or using mid-mission saves.

Sorry if you already knew this and where confused about something else I had said.

Well... I've never heard of the Titanium Man playstyle before. Sounds interesting.
I might give it a try

That's actually called "cushy trumpet mode", after BugleSoft, the first person to play that way. (You may not even pause the game longer than necessary.)

* Risk of SHAS. Some places in the cathedral and in the lost city are notorious for it.
* Having to navigate close to some lava pools in the lost city.

I've been looking up and down the possible settings in the console guide but could find none that help. Crank up gamma to the maximum which helps a little bit but noch much. Maybe the settings of your monitor or graphics card can help (contrast, brightness etc.).

Just blackjack the assassin you're supposed to track, pick him up and carry him to Ramirez' mansion. (You got to knock out the right one; if you leave the shop immediately, it's the one on the left.)

I think you can also drop down into the water somewhere, but not sure if that's actually easier to do. I find it by far easier to mantle that to get hold of the rope. Remember, staying alive is by far the most important thing, so find a safe spot and drink a cup of coffee until things have calmed down. You can also use your arrows to kill the burricks of blackjack them.

I am going by the "official" TM rules as set out a few posts into this thread:
(

I think Cushy Trumpet, also on that page, sounds slightly harder than TM though they are very very similar.
EDIT no doubt my representation of TM in the OP does sound like TushyC :) But I am following the TM rules.

Luthien, I am playing with Tfix and haven't noticed any of the old bugs like rope death and SHAS. I know you can enter the tombs via a water route but for me that would be much more dangerous than taking on the Burricks :)
I did not know that about Assassins. I did try BJacking one but it caused mission failure and I just assumed they were both protected. So you are suggesting that if I BJack the correct one I can let the other walk off far away, then just walk with the other at my leisure? Sounds interesting.
Forgot about Lost City's three-rope-jump section. I can usually get it but it has been known to happen that I waste an arrow by firing it into the wrong place, or end up not catching the opposite opening correctly and falling into the lava.

I've never tried it, but I would imagine that failing to mantle/missing a jump and falling to your death would be #1 cause of failing a run :)

Not really, you usually avoid dangerous maneuvers.
