From theyr site :
Quote:
August 20, 2019 - no new images may be uploaded on TinyPic.
August 29, 2019 - hosted images will no longer be viewable on 3rd party websites. Because we are an anonymous hosting site and therefore cannot provide notice by e-mail to our users, we have opted to replace all hosted images with a temporary message directing them to this notice.
September 16, 2019 - last day for TinyPic account holders to access their accounts and download their images.

That's sad. Another win for the cartel.

Millions of forums with millions of posts talking about millions of missing images.
That's a lot of culture history going down the tubes.

I bet archive.org is busy taking a full snapshot - they usually even get a "direct line" in cases like this (Because, historically, their crawlers might not otherwise find all the stuff or sort-of kill the site in the process. So, a more useful way to crawl the site is worked out with the provider - usually).
Not terribly convenient against all the broken links though.

In other news, Photobucket now charges for third-party pasting of images you've stored on their site. I'm looking for an easy-to-use site that stores my photos for free and doesn't charge me when I want to paste one of those images to another website, like TTLG.
P.S. Just wondering why TTLG doesn't have the option of allowing users to d/l their own photos from their own files (on their PCs, laptops, etc.)?

TTLG allows that for mods.
You have to have server space for user images though, and I think it might have something to do with bandwidth too.
That and the ethersphere maybe... I really don't know what I'm talking about.
