I'm surprised that no-one else has posted about this, but nothing showed up in search.
When I play TN, the movies show up small in the center of the screen - I'm guessing because they are 320x200, but the interface runs at 640x480 and they aren't getting scaled.
Anyone know of a workaround? At some point (when I don't have a physics lecture in ten minutes) I'm going to run a bunch of them through the Smacker tools and see if upping the size of the original movies will work.

Sent them through the Smacker tools. Clearly I still don't fully understand how to use them right; I've managed to create a 640x400 version of openera without sound, but as soon as I tell it to include sound, the sound works fine but the video breaks.
