Now that "Thief: Deadly Shadows" (
shudder) is official, we have a minor but no doubt recurring problem: Typing "T:DS" results in "T

Or you could just use T: DS instead. Or disable smilies.
Viz:
T:DP
Same with the Dark Project.

People can avoid it by refusing to use that silly name, or any abbreviation thereof
(ahahaha I cannot resist an opportunity to bitch about the ghey title!!!!one)

Yes, I know how to do that. I did it in the first post of this thread. The point is that the inevitable flood of newbs generally won't know to do that, thus I anticipate a steady trickle of "T:DS" in people's posts.

When vB3 is lauched, which should be prior to T: DS' release, there is a wonderful section that allows you to replace things in posts as they are posted, so we can set T:DS to become T: DS easily enough.

I feel the use of T:DS off-sets the negative reception of the game so far to an acceptable degree.

Or you could just use TDS, just like people use "TDP". [/smartass]

"TDP" stands for "The Dark Project", doof. The equivalent form for the next Thief game would be just "DS".

Couldn't you set it to become T:DS instead?

We can do, but the changes are reflected in the database as the user posts, not as the page renders. I wouldn't be in favour of altering users' posts to contain content they may not understand.
