Also sounds alot like a haunted house game on Newgrounds, where you have to go around solving puzzles and keep the evil shadows at bay with your flashlight.

Really, the only way to get a non-cliché title is by looking at the plot of the game, recognizing the main theme of it, and embodying that in the title, whether directly, or by allegory, or metaphor, or some other means.
If your plot doesn't HAVE a theme, then... well, that's a whole other set of problems.
