So, not quite out of the blue since I've been waiting to do that for years, I decided to take advantage of my stay on the gorgeous Californian coast to look for a skydiving club and just, you know, jump out of a plane.
At 18.000 ft.
Seeing the giganormous grey clouds last saturday morning I got very concerned since I had pretty much only that day to do it, and no room to reschedule. Fortunately, by noon the sky cleared and it became the most beautiful day ever. I could not have wished for more.
So they got us ready.
Suited up and ready to go!

We all watched them and one of the other guys had this brillliant idea to say "Well, they're all open!". Heh. Nervous laughter ensued. Getting in the plane was when it got kind of real, like, OK, now I'm actually
doing this?? And then, the moment came. It all went so fast, one second the guy in front of me was there, the next he was gone. And it was MY turn.

It took a while to manage to breathe, there's too much air coming in. But then, I could actually enjoy the freefall...

I'm not sure if that's Palos Verdes peninsula or one of the bays in NorCal I see in the pictures, but anyway it's interesting that they let you jump out in street clothes. The one place I did check out a while ago had a jump suit (ha ha) they made me rent, although I was only doing price check at the time and didn't go through with it. It's still on my to-do list, though.

That looks amazing, I however am far too afraid of the parachute not opening and dying. The thought always rings through my mind that I would've died after jumping out of a plane... not too smart sounding, is it?
