Wow, I can't imagine what was going through his head as everything went to shit only 5 days into filming.

If you haven't already, watch Lost in La Mancha. You'll get to witness what was going through his mind.

I saw 'Lost in La Mancha' and was excited to see the film that Gilliam was invisioning. However the fact that he hasn't made a decent film in over 10 years means I can hardly get too excited about this. I really want to though and hopefully Gilliam can get out of this slump he is in because when he's 'on' it can be something quite special indeed.

The plot reminds me a little of a Borges short-story called Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote.
It's not the same story, but it sort of hovers in the same direction.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but I actually found the Brothers Grimm to be a good bit of fun - not a masterful work of art, sure, but good entertainment. Plus, Peter Stormare's scenery-chewing is AMAZING.
Admittedly, a lot of the best material is in the deleted scenes.

Apart from the Bob and Harvey fucking it up (why can't people just leave Gilliam alone and let him make his films?) here and there, I too really enjoyed Grimm. But then again, I think Gilliam could shit on a plate, and I'd have to take a bite--and probably'd go back for seconds.
...and yes, I did buy Tideland, and found it brilliant, too.

If you're not going to eat all that shit, Queue, pass it over.
Yay Terry. I got a night at the cinema with your movie's name on it, right here.
Even Gilliam at his weakest still leaves the majority of directors in the dust.

A-fucking-men to that.

Agreed. I sat through Grimm trying to figure out what everyone was bitching about. It didn't change my life, but it was a good, fun movie that was well put together IMO.
