Would you mind sending me the link too? My first thought was how erotic it sounded.
...I'm a girl, aren't I?

Sounds like fun BA. But after sneaking around thievery with you it does not surprise me that you kept your cool with eyes wide open during the show.
I need to go to one of those. But where I live they would be jousting on mules wearing tin foil on their heads with their buck knives tied to the end of a stick.

BA........He was blonde, I don't do blondes.
That's an incredibly shallow view on the whole he+she concept. Oh yeah baby...oh well...Mrs. Sly might beg to differ.;) :p :D :cheeky:
:sly:
back on topic....I love the ren fest....I'm often the guy who throws the performers a curve ball or two...most enjoy it but I've met a few who don't like an audience member getting the upper hand. But I'm stopping short of knife tossing......:eww: :erm: :nono:

There is something terribly erotic about that, to be helpless and to have to trust someone to not kill you accidentally....
Yes, they call it masochism.

that's not it at all, and you're an idiot. :thumb:

Agreed Lesser. This is not strictly about pain and suffer, either imposed on oneselfs, or inflicted by others. There is a certain thrill out of being up on that stage, and it has nothing to do with pain. Of course I could of gotten hurt, but, I had to trust those guys, or they wouldn't be doing that act. When I was up on that stage, I sure as hell wasn't thinking sexual thoughts, or for that matter getting hurt. I was just getting through the act. I was saying to myself, "Oh shit" The what if factor. But, I knew deep down, I'd be ok, I've seen the act before. Of course something could of happened, but, it didn't. I had little time to react, I just wanted to get through the act itself, and I knew I would be ok.
The length of the blade, the width of the blade, can resemble a penis, for some women, that is a major turn on, add a sense of danger, not the pain, danger + sexual gratification. Very erotic for some. You read some of those stories, very erotic. I hope this makes some sense to you Koyla. Or are you just being a smart ass about this. :P

Haha, why? Because you suddenly don't like the idea of yourself, wanting to feel weak and helpless anymore, now that I put a label on it that you despise?
BArts, I don't think your actual experience has much to do with LesserFollies' imagination of it. Besides masochism doesn't include someone getting hurt automatically. It's a bit more complex than this and someone wanting to feel weak and helpless and someone wanting to be in control is a major part of it. Another part is trust.
Watch this movie ((
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0274812/) Secretary (2002)) sometime. I think you will find it's a major turn on. :)
And it will clear up some things about SM for you.
BrokenArts on 23/5/2007 at 17:58
Well, I don't need things cleared up for me, you mentioned masochism at first, now sadomasochism. Which do you really want, and are you talking about. Closely related, but, depends on the persons state of mind.
Kolya on 23/5/2007 at 18:25
But... these subjects aren't exactly mutually exclusive.
Try entering "masochism" at Wikipedia. See what happens.
Or go on and think of yourself just as a very "girly" girl*. It really makes no difference what you call it. And obviously it's easier for you to embrace that side of yourself this way, which is all that matters in the end.
*By no means do I mean to imply with this, that all girls have a masochistic craving. Instead I use it as a mainstream label here, that refers to a certain behaviour, which is traditionally associated with women, without any intent to support this association.
EDIT: Quick editing there...
