This is just an idea and may be difficult to implement but I'll throw it out here anyway.
Once you've hit the reply-button and are on the editor page to enter your message you can see a very stripped down review of the thread below. It doesn't include quote buttons, names aren't linked to profile pages anymore and links to single posts are missing as well. It would be nice if the review included at least some of that, to use while writing your reply.
