Subnautica was SO good I think the sequel had almost too much to live up to anyway.

Latest Xbox rumours:-
* Perfect Dark was always pretty much a "fake game". The Initiative + Crystal Dynamics spent the last 7 years making vertical slices over and over again. (So my theories: either A. perpetually incompetent studio management and/or B. studio management actively grifting off parent company MS.)
* A 2nd party game that John Romero's studio was developing was cancelled by MS. Entire studio's staff had to be laid off as result.
* MS has dropped out of publishing Kojima's horror game OD.
* A Halo Studios' project is close to cancellation.
* MS is trying to replace several roles with AI.
If you guys are looking forward to that Fable reboot, I'd be worried. Reportedly that's had a very troubled development history. The years of the Xbox division farting about by making slop and burning money (eg most of the Xbox One generation) is coming to close, the daddy MS' Eye of Sauron has them under scrunity.
Some of the recent gaming stories I find to be unreal in their Clown World levels. Eg reportedly recently closed by EA's Cliffhanger Games (ex-Monolith Productions developers who worked on Mordor series) spend 4 years in pre-production for a Black Panther game. Similarly the development of recently closed WB studio Monolith Productions were working on a Wonder Woman game for many years, having rebooted it 2 or 3 times. We keep getting stories like this, I so wouldn't be surprised if there's levels of grifting involved by senior staff in some of these AAA studios off clueless corporate executives.

And regarding Subnautica 2: I know it's just the nature of the business, but it still bothers me how IP works outside of literature and music. I know it's fruitless and naive, but it still bothers me.
So here's a new Beatles album with brand new original songs. John, Paul, George and Ringo had nothing to do with it, but we own the rights, the name, and we put a lot of money into it, so now it's officially a new Beatles album.
Yup, it's why some of these long running AAA studios are often called skinsuits.
One theory I've seen floated about for Bioware still being open, despite having now THREE CONSECUTIVE FLOPS:- EA keep it around because the prestige it once had still looks good on paper. Gives the illusion that EA's line-up has some diversity outside of sports, shooters and The Sims.

I'm actually very hyped for the final form of EvaUnit02 that we're seeing emerge, a being that started off as a simple, walking cautionary tale of the results of macrodosing mtn dew and powdered redpill, but has been mutating into a somehow even more ridiculous self-parody of gnashed teeth and regurgitated hikikomori memetics funnelled straight into the mouth of a GG2.0 megaphone. Whatever could he (they? it?) look like? It's exciting to consider the possibilities. Maybe Alex Jones will run an interview for us when this EvaUnit02.0+1.0 is plopped into the sky like a newborn star child, its fearful eyes looking straight into the camera lens and proposing, with a telepathic voice like a Mickey Mouse alarm clock that won't shut off, that humanity's true cultural apogee was the time when we were able to slide the video game camera under a schoolgirl's skirt and whistle at the colour of her underwear.

I mean...that's pretty much what the Beach Boys have been doing since 1980 or whatever, and there are 0 living original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd but they still draw crowds when they tour for some reason.
And the last Hitchhiker's Guide book had nothing to do with Douglas Adams. I'll never understand the way people become obsessive fans of franchises or IP's or whatever instead of being fans of the humans who create things.

======================================
Remember that one time when Lemmy beat Pinhead in a card game? (motorhead - hell raiser music video)
Lemmy's journey from hawkwind band to finding the authentic bass sound for Motorhead is interesting. He treated his 4000 Series Rickenbacker like a rhythm guitar
There's an ozzy osbourne version too, anyway

Hopefully they have destruction like that in the MP + not have be it some lame "levolution" scripted shit. Everybody keeps asking for destruction reminicent of Bad Company 2, but they haven't given it to us since.

American Truck Sim (
https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugkx_BsxlUKITIQ99_i5bpG_-eahKsgElW_Y) announced today their first DLC for their Road Trip mode, which is a pack of classic Ford cars. Up until now, you could load car mods, but it was just a cosmetic difference and they kept the truck-like handling. This will let us drive cars that legitimately handle like cars on that magnificent platform of highways and roads they've got built up now.
I mostly play that game just to drive the highways and see the beautiful diversity of my country anymore, so I'm a big fan of this.
