Looks like it might be coop. I'm down for that - they're never gonna recapture the lightning in a bottle of the first game, so more of the same with multiplayer seems like a good direction.

I found out there's a new Sniper Elite coming next year. Another one for my co-op queue with my buddy! We've already played through SE2, SE5, 90% of SE3. (Dropped SE3 upon the last mission because of regular disconnects.)

I never finished the original but what I did play of it was really cool. It'll be a shame if the sequel is MP only. I was going for some real leviathans to get my megalohydrothalassophobia really going.

They've recently stated that co-op play is completely optional and won't affect the single player part of the game at all.

If I'm not mistaken, it's being done in Unreal Engine, right? Other than requiring a hefty PC, my impression is that Unreal Engine plays well with VR, so even if there's no official VR mode, I'd expect there to be a good VR mod before long.

Unreal Engine 5 was clearly designed for hardware which doesn't exist yet. To be back in an age where practically every other game coming is the equivalent of Crysis is pretty wild.
