Sega still making Creative Assembly grovel after investing millions into cancelled "drag queen inspired" extraction shooter, flop Total Wars like Pharaoh and overpriced DLCs for Warhammer TW 3... They've announced an Alien Isolation sequel.
They actually have to make customers happy instead of milking them like pay piggies with overpriced, poor deal Total War DLCs + relying on communist stakeholder investment handouts with a "modern audience" pandering MP game, which would've flopped as badly as Concord. A Japanese corporate daddy for once putting their foot down and not letting their long term reputation be ruined by Western clowns was very refreshing.

Alien Isolation
To our fans around the world:
It’s hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we embarked on our journey with the release of ALIEN: ISOLATIONTM.
When we started developing ALIEN: ISOLATIONTM, we had one guiding principle: to create a truly authentic experience that went back to the roots of the ALIENTM franchise - a new story capturing the atmosphere and terror of the original 1979 movie masterpiece.
It’s been nothing short of incredible to witness your passion for the game over the years and see it reach so many players around the world. Your boundless enthusiasm, excitement, screams(!) and steely courage in the face of cinema’s greatest killer, have been profoundly rewarding.
Whether you’re a nightmare mode veteran or stepping into Amanda Ripley’s shoes for that thrilling first attempt (good luck!), we wanted to express our deep gratitude. It was a dream project brought to life by a brilliant team, and the reception you have given it over the years is extraordinary.
On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear.
Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to ALIEN: ISOLATIONTM is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we’re ready.
Once again, thank you.
Until next time,
Al Hope, Creative Director – ALIEN: ISOLATIONTM

Consider therapy. It might not help get you laid, but it could help in other ways because you get to pay someone to listen to your drivel.

Eva, you took a wrong turn somewhere, this is the thread of hype, not the thread for whining!

Who's whining? 2024 has been a fantastic year for the long term, general health of the industry. Several multi-million $ slop projects, targeting non-existent "modern audience" which activist peons gaslit Boomer executives into believing existed, have been failing left and right. Sega corporate now have their Eye of Sauron gaze upon their presently clown shoes UK subsidiary, so they're forced to greenlight projects that appeal to the actual gaming audience for their survival.
I regained some respect for the general gaming audience since they no longer seem to be mindlessly consuming AAA sludge to the degree which they used to. Total War Pharaoh failing + the mass protests over TW Warhammer 3 DLCs nickel and diming to such a severe degree than ever in the past are a sign of this.
AAA companies hurting badly ATM, eg doing mass lay offs, will likely lead to good things for customers down the line. Companies which survive will hopefully be more desperate to appeal to the actual gaming audience. We are already slowly seeing signs of a pivot, eg the announcement of Gears of War: E-Day. A likely return to the masculine roots of the series, after the heavily gynocentric Gears 5.

Good job! That reply isn't whining, but it's also not the thread for pretending being woke is a death sentence for game sales, celebrating industry decline, and being scared of girls.

Either that or we could all pitch in and send him a copy of Stellar Blade; should keep him busy for a while.

If that means less bilgespew, count me in.

I dunno if I'd say I'm hyped for this, but it looks cool:
