The remake of Little Big Adventure, one of my favourite PC games of the 1990's, is supposed to be released later this year!

The last time I saw some screenshots of the remake a couple of months ago, it looked a bit disappointing, but I think they've nailed the LBA style in this. :) The gameplay seems to be pretty much the same as in the original, but it looks a bit more smooth and Twinsen seems to have got some new tricks up his sleeve, so I'm very much looking forward to this one.

Ooooh! Loved LBA2, never really played the first, so yes, I'm kinda hyped about this.

It's always interesting (read: suspicious) when a game like that comes out of nowhere with no press, no fanfare, and no reviews. This one could be a casualty of the Embracer Group debacle though, and it seems to have an Epic Megagames grant, which means it probably had a budget (unlike Repo Man, which still looks like a bunch of assets put together for a trailer). Still not a guarantee that it's any good, though.

Well I caved in and got it, so (free time permitting) I'll let you know. Initial reviews are promising though, and I'm already in it for the aesthetics & slow paced detective gameplay by itself. But we'll see.

Steam reviews for an initial release are only useful to mark out if a game's completely broken or not, and at only a hundred reviews or so, a chunk of them may not be genuine. I also hold a dim eye towards Steam reviews in general, because the Steam user base mostly prizes memes, unqualified gushing, or incredibly specific, specious, and pedantic bugbears behind their thumbing a game up or down, but that's neither here nor there right now.
So - looking forward to your thoughts! Reminds me I should probably just play L.A. Noire someday too, whenever that day may be.

KRAFTON, of PUBG fame, are working on UE5 powered life simulator to compete against The Sims. Since it's from a Chad Korean developer, they actually let you create feminine women. No enforcement of the Californian Man Jaw Industrial Complex, like with Western AAA.

Shadow of the Damned remaster coming on Halloween. Like with the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster (due September), we gotta wait and see if they've been censored.

Quote:
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered is launching on October 31, aka Halloween. The trailer doesn't really highlight what's new in the remastered version of the game, but we know from previous announcements that it includes new costumes and a New Game Plus mode. Fans can also expect improved visuals and performance thanks to the beefier hardware it's releasing on.
When is the Shadows of the Damned: Hell Remastered Release Date?
October 31, 2024
While the Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered release date trailer doesn't focus much on what's new in the remaster, it does take the time to spotlight the various creative minds behind the game. Suda51 is mentioned, as is Shinji Mikami and various other people that worked on the game. For those that have never played Shadows of the Damned, knowing the creative minds behind the game could be a selling point. Suda51 is known for making all kinds of bizarre and experimental games, while Shinji Mikami is the creator of the Resident Evil franchise, and in fact, directed Resident Evil 4, Shadows of the Damned's greatest inspiration.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Shadows of the Damned is an over-the-top third-person shooter about demon hunter Garcia Hotspur exploring hellish lands in search of his kidnapped girlfriend. Hotspur comes equipped with his talking gun/motorcycle Johnson, which comes in handy when fighting the seemingly endless wave of monsters that Hotspur encounters on his adventure. The game was noted for its story and sense of humor, not to mention its unique enemy designs. Here's hoping this new version of Shadows of the Damned will be able to find a greater audience than the original release did.

The Chinook just dropped in DCS.
It's a big deal if you're into military choppers at least.
It's good they're getting into the logistic vehicles for those of us not as twitch sensitive as the fighter types but still want to be in the action.
