Watching it again, I'm struck that the war can't help but cast the game in a whole new light that makes it go hard, which at least to me is all over that trailer.
But to their credit they also keep the mystical side of it where the Zone is this much bigger thing than our little squabbles here on earth, which was the original meaning of the Roadside Picnic come to think of it -- creatures or forces that stopped by without even thinking of us any deeper than the ants at a picnic, also the basic message of Solaris, and I guess that whole zeitgeist when they were written.

I'm tempted to buy Stalker 2 out of the sheer balls of them to make a game in the middle of a warzone, but I'll exercise self-control and wait for the Game Pass rental to trial it.

As predicted, reboot Joanna Dark has been succumb to the Californian Man Jaw Complex. Joanna Dark is supposed to be a classic femme fatale spy, straight out of an old school Bond film, no heads are going to be turned by this Joanna. She like looks she'd be more at home as a Mission Control hacker sidekick.
If the prequel Gears of War: E-Day ends up lacking in some Testosterone, they'll find it over at Perfect Dark.

The Doom 2016 reboot series is pretty much 1970s/80s Metal album covers in game form, especially so post-Eternal. This new game is a prequel.
