GTA PS2 trilogy remasters rumoured (
https://archive.vn/bd7no)
Could be good. The controls of PS2 trilogy have certainly aged badly. Ironically keyboard + mouse is the best option to play them today, since you can completely ignore the horrid lock on aiming.
I'll wait until the fanbase analyses the released products with a fine-toothed comb before I consider buying. You can't trust remasters or remakes from modern day Western developers. Censorship is rife. All of the GTAs to date where made when politically incorrect humour and satire was the norm.

I like this thread idea too. So: (
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spiderwebsoftware/queens-wish-2-the-tormentor) Queen's Wish 2, by Jeff Vogel, whose two-person company (him and his wife) have put out
sixteen high-quality RPGs over the last three decades, not counting remakes. The core idea is that you play as an RPG party whose resources come from empire-building, and the "dungeons" you clear become mines, harbors or what have you, sending resources back to your home base. Instead of finding the best equipment in dungeons, your craftspeople make it for you, once they have sufficient supplies.
However, every time Vogel starts a new series the first entry is jank, and this series was no exception. Hopefully the second will amend that.

Thief but it's noir, anyone?
I hope this can live up to its inspirations a bit.

Looks like "Thief but less noir" to me.

Their website literally describes it as a "first-person 2.5D noir stealth game."
Looks pretty cool though. Out in 2 weeks, I'll probably pick it up.
Likely intentional, but they shouldn't have put the 451 safe code right in the trailer!

Thief (especially the second game) is about a cynical down on his luck morally grey protagonist who lives in a corrupt crime-infested city and gets drawn into a vast conspiracy complete with betrayals and a femme fatale...
At this point, you'd have to have some weapons-grade noir -- something to the level of a fedora and trench coat wearing detective who gets a job from a cigarette smoking dame while moody jazz plays in the background to get to the bare minimum starting point of outnoiring Thief, let alone make Thief not look like a noir game any more in comparison. And the trailer doesn't show any of that.

"Filcher"? Seriously?
Jason Moyer on 1/9/2021 at 23:46
It's the sequel to Klepto. He's also working on a sequel titled Burglar.
Pyrian on 2/9/2021 at 00:49
The naming convention seems like it's heading towards "Grant Theft Auto".

It's also only one vowel off from one of the few words I wish I didn't know.
