Shouldn't it check the date of the last post in the thread you're posting in, rather than the date of the actual post you're quoting?
I quoted a post more than 30 days old in a thread, but the latest post in the thread itself was 2 days old, yet I got the BIG RED WARNING nonetheless.
So yeah, that's not exactly THREAD NECROMANCY since the thread itself is still current.

It makes sense though in the case somebody sees a freshly raised-from-the-dead thread without realizing and then replies to an old post (by quoting it) thinking the discussion is still active.

It's working as I intended it to work, which is a simple mod using parameters already passed in the URL. Besides, the information conveyed is correct - the post you're replying to is older than 30 days.

well yeah, but it's not thread necromancy. Some threads have been consistently updated for years.

Oh dear god, stop the presses!
To put your mind at rest I shall chance it to "Necromancy Warning"

The point of a warning is not to stop you doing something. It's to make sure you've given it some thought beforehand.

I think some of our posters would benefit if a warning like that would be displayed on every post they make.

If it's a really popular thread that's being revived, would that make it a "Necrophilia Warning"?

Let this thread die so we can resurrect it in a month for comedy value
