At 2130 BST tonight I noticed that at least one post that had been made was not reflected in the thread index....
<img src="http://www.concretedonkey.net/img/junk/post1.gif"><p><img src="http://www.concretedonkey.net/img/junk/post2.gif"><p>
The first image is of the thread index at 21:30. Ringed is the alledged number of replies and the last poster. The second image was also taken at 21:30 and is of the thread showing a second reply in the thread some 4 hours ago. I do not believe this to be a cache problem as it occurs in all three browsers I use (Mozilla 1.0, Opera 6.05 and IE6.0) which do not share the same cache area on my harddrive and I rarely use IE or Opera for the forums, definatley not in the last few days.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or has so in the past?
:weird:

I have seen it happen once with a thread in ThiefGen, after I posted in it to test what was going on it went back to normal. I recall it happening to Daxim as well, in CommChat I think. Seems to be a rare occurrence, it happened to me at least 6 months ago if not more and to Daxim... eh, three months ago I think? Something like that.

Dunno what caused that, but I just manally updated the indexes and it seems to be fine now :)

I got a php error message "could not connect to database" or similar. The posting itself was saved, but not indexed.

I've noticed the same thing happen a few times, about a month or so apart. It seemed like just a temporary hiccup, so I didn't notify the admins.

When/if you see this sort of thing happen, feel free to give a holler as we can run the manual "kick in the shorts" anytime :)

Okay, that's a bit different MM. The thread you show was moved, so it only shows the last poster before moving. If you look at the thread in the forum where it was moved to it should have the correct info. :)

Ok, now I found one. In the starwars thread is says the last post was made by screech, although dahelis was the last to post.
But I think this problem might only be because IE stores the previous/next pages (I pressed back and forwards a few times, but it was only when I pressed refresh that it was fixed).
